Ghattaghar Calms Down: Traffic flow normalizes following fatal accident



KATHMANDU: The Ghattaghar area, which experienced chaos following a truck collision with a scooter that resulted in the death of a female rider, has now been brought under control and the situation is currently normal.

The accident occurred when the truck (Na 6 Kha 2173) struck the scooter (Ba 49 Pa 8944), dragging it for approximately 100 meters and causing severe mutilation to the rider’s body.

The identity of the deceased has yet to be confirmed, though a bag containing books found at the scene suggests that the victim was a student.

In the aftermath, an enraged crowd vandalized the truck and staged a protest, obstructing the Bhaktapur-Kathmandu road and causing a temporary closure.

Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force were deployed to restore order.

The road is now open to vehicles, and the situation has returned to normal.
