Eight arrested in Kathmandu drug bust; Brown Sugar and other narcotics seized

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested eight individuals in Koteshwar, Kathmandu, in connection with a drug bust.

The authorities seized 33.76 grams of brown sugar during the operation.

The arrested individuals are Rafis Awale (27) from Lalitpur, Risaf Shrestha (19) from Namobuddha, Kavrepalanchwok, Reman Rai (21) from Kanepokhari, Morang, Amit Kumar Chaudhary (33) and Pramod Rai (36) from Belbari, Morang, Meharman Bhujel (28) from Miklajung, Timpal Tamang (27) from Phidim, and Bhim Kumar Chemjong (29) from Phalgunanda, Panchthar.

In addition to the brown sugar, the police confiscated other narcotics, a motorcycle, a scooter, Rs 55,000 in cash, 14 mobile phones, an iPad, and a digital weighing machine.

This operation was initiated after police noticed suspicious activities among the group, leading to the subsequent search and arrests.
