Power outage in Annapurna Rural Municipality for three days

MYAGDI: Electricity supply has been interrupted for three days in Annapurna Rural Municipality in the district.

The rural municipality is experiencing no electricity after Kaligandaki swept away three poles and wires of the 32-11 KV transmission line on Saturday night.

Ram Bahadur Khadka, the ward chairman of Annapurna Rural Municipality-6, said that due to the lack of electricity, the service delivery, mobile phone and internet services of the rural municipality have been affected.

Computer classes have not been conducted in the school. Biren Garbuja Pun, a hotelier from Ghodepani, said that the mobile tower stopped working.

More than 3,200 households in Dowa, Bhurung Tatopani, Dana, Narchyang, Sikha, Paudwar, Ghar, Histan, Ramche of Annapurna Rural Municipality have been left in the dark due to interruption of electricity supply.

Prakash Jha, information officer of Myagdi distribution centre of Nepal Electricity Authority, informed that the line repair was delayed due to the opposition of the land owner of the place where the new pole was proposed to be placed.

However, he said that under the leadership of village chairman Bharat Kumar Pun, the dispute was resolved and the poles were buried and wires were pulled from Monday afternoon.
