House to consider National Sports Development Bill

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) has accepted a proposal tabled seeking its consideration on “National Sports Development Bill-2075 BS.”

In today’s session, Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Bishwakarma tabled the proposal seeking its consideration.

Lawmakers earlier stressed on connecting sports with tourism. Seeking an amendment bill, lawmaker Dila Sangraula suggested establishing a ‘sports academy’ in all seven states.

Another lawmaker Amresh Kumar Singh proposed revising the bill to establish sports as a necessary tool for stress management.

Likewise, lawmaker Prem Suwal said that the Olympic Committee and the National Sports Council should not have a parallel status.

In response, Minister Bishwakarma assured of incorporating the feedback before its endorsement.
