Newly appointed CM of Sudurpaschim Province sworn in



KATHMANDU: The newly appointed Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah, has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

Province Chief Minister Najir Miya administered the oath to Chief Minister Shah.

Shah, who is the leader of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party, was appointed Chief Minister on Sunday with the support of CPN-UML, as stipulated in Article 168 of the Constitution.

In addition, Miya also administered the oath to the newly appointed ministers and state ministers on the same day.

Bahadur Singh Thapa from the Nepali Congress has been given the role of Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning, while Meghraj Khadka has been appointed as Minister of Social Development.

Prakash Bahadur Bam will serve as Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Planning, and Saraswati Khadka has been appointed Minister of State for Social Development.

The Council of Ministers under Chief Minister Shah includes the following appointments from CPN-UML:

Surendra Bahadur Pal as Minister of Physical Infrastructure

Hira Sarki as Minister of Internal Affairs and Law

Bir Bahadur Thapa as Minister of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperatives

Additionally, Nirmala Devi Saud has been appointed as Minister of State in the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, and Laxman Kishor Chaudhary has taken responsibility for the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest, and Environment from Civil Immunity.
