Kamal Bahadur Shah appointed Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim

KATHMANDU: Kamal Bahadur Shah of the Nepali Congress (NC) was appointed Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province on Sunday.

With backing from the CPN-UML, Shah had presented his claim for the Chief Minister role to Provincial Chief Najir Miya earlier today.

Following his claim, Provincial Chief Miya officially appointed Shah to the post.

This marks Shah’s second term as Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim.

His appointment follows the resignation of Dirgha Bahadur Sodari from the Unified Socialist Party, who had been in the minority. Provincial Chief Miya had set a 5 pm deadline today for the submission of claims for the position.
