CPN (Unified Socialist) expands central committee to 344 members



KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has finalized its central committee members, expanding the committee to include all aspirants.

According to the party statute, the central committee is supposed to have 21 office bearers and 299 members.

However, to accommodate the demands of all aspirants, the party has increased the number of central committee members to 344, as announced after a meeting held on Friday, according to party spokesperson Jagannath Khatiwada.

The party, which concluded its general convention a month ago, initially selected only 93 central committee members.

During the convention, Madhav Kumar Nepal was elected as Chairman, Jhalnath Khanal as Senior Leader, and Ghanshyam Bhusal as General Secretary.

The party plans to soon select its office bearers as well.
