Saurya Airlines crash: Captain Manish Shakya survives



KATHMANDU: Captain Manish Shakya, who miraculously survived the tragic shipwreck of the Saurya Airlines on Wednesday morning, is currently undergoing intensive care treatment (ICU) at Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) in Sinamangal.

According to SSP Dineshraj Mainali, spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Shakya is conscious and able to communicate.

The incident claimed the lives of 18 out of the 19 individuals aboard.

Police have recovered the bodies of the deceased and transported them to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for post-mortem.

The crash, which occurred on Wednesday morning at 11:11 a.m., prompted an immediate response from fire departments, security personnel, and emergency services for search and rescue operations.
