KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has reinstated electricity lines to six industries that had outstanding electricity tariffs.

Following a Board of Directors’ meeting chaired by Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, the decision was made to reconnect power to these industries starting from 8 pm today.

“The industrialists must settle their dues promptly to avoid further disconnections,” stated Minister Khadka, emphasizing the Authority’s commitment to resolving issues through dialogue.

The decision aligns with directives from the Electricity Regulatory Commission to recover outstanding payments within three months.

Previously, electricity lines were severed at Reliance Spinning Mill, Ghorahi Cement, Arghakhachi Cement, Jagadamba Steels, Jagadamba Synthetic, and Hulas Steel due to unpaid tariffs.

Prime Minister KP Oli had earlier instructed for the industries’ lines to be reconnected and for issues to be resolved through negotiation.
