KATHMANDU: The once bustling markets of Kathmandu Valley now echo with emptiness as shutters display ‘to-let’ signs.
Businesses, from small shops to grand malls, are dwindling, leaving behind a landscape dotted with vacant storefronts.
In the heart of the city’s business districts, commercial and office boards have been replaced by ubiquitous ‘to-let’ notices.
What were once vibrant shopping malls now stand deserted, their shutters adorned with phone numbers advertising available spaces.
Previously vibrant hubs of commerce, these malls now struggle for foot traffic, a stark contrast to their former bustling days.
The transformation is evident across the capital, where even the smallest shops now struggle to attract customers.
