KATHMANDU: Since the onset of this year’s monsoon, Nepal has witnessed tragic consequences with 77 fatalities and 88 injuries due to floods, landslides, and inundations across various regions.
Deputy Inspector General Dan Bahadur Karki of Nepal Police reported casualties in multiple provinces, including one death in Kathmandu Valley, 18 in Koshi Province, and significant losses in other regions.
Rescue efforts have saved 53 individuals, while searches continue for the missing.
Additionally, 161 houses were waterlogged, and numerous structures suffered damage, displacing 296 families and causing the loss of 335 cattle.
Authorities are relocating vulnerable families and restoring infrastructure affected by the disasters.
