Water level in Narayani River exceeds danger mark

CHITWAN: The Narayani River has crossed the danger mark following incessant rainfall.

At 4:45 pm today, the water level in Devghat was measured at 9.8 meters.

The warning level for the river is considered at seven meters, and the danger level is reached when the water current exceeds nine meters.

According to Sunil Pokharel, chief of the flood forecasting section, a message has been sent to the residents around the Narayani River this afternoon to remain alert.

Pokharel informed that approximately 100,000 people have been urged to adopt safety measures.

“It’s raining continuously, and the water level of the river has crossed the danger level during the day.

Therefore, we urge the people around the river to remain alert,” Pokharel stated.
