Madhes CM Singh to seek vote of confidence on July 6

JANAKPURDHAM: Satish Kumar Singh, the Chief Minister of Madhes Province government, is set to seek a vote of confidence on July 6.

According to constitutional provisions mandating a confidence vote within 30 days of government formation, Chief Minister Singh will present his case in the state assembly on Saturday.

The state government, led by Singh of the Janamat Party, was formed on June 7.

The Janamat Party is the fourth largest party in the Madhes Provincial Assembly.

The assembly comprises 107 members, including 25 from CPN-UML, 22 from Nepali Congress, 13 from Janamat Party, 19 from Janata Samajwadi Party, 9 from Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, 9 from Nepal Maoist Centre, seven from Unified Socialist, and one member each from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal Samajwadi Party, and Nagarik Unmukti Party.
