Suspended Chief Secretary Aryal transferred to NPC, Gadtaula appointed Acting Chief Secretary

KATHMANDU: The government has transferred suspended Chief Secretary Baikuntha Aryal to the National Planning Commission (NPC).

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held in Singha Durbar today decided to create a special position equivalent to Chief Secretary and transfer Aryal to this newly established role, according to government spokesperson Rekha Sharma.

Aryal was automatically suspended after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a corruption case against him in the Special Court yesterday.

The meeting also decided to appoint Liladevi Gadtaula as the Acting Chief Secretary.

Gadtaula, one of the senior secretaries at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, has been assigned the role of Acting Chief Secretary.
