Monsoon influence expands across Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces



KATHMANDU: The monsoon system is currently impacting four provinces of Nepal.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the monsoon’s influence has expanded across most areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Additionally, the eastern part of Lumbini province is experiencing effects from the monsoon system, while the remaining areas are influenced partially by local and westerly winds.

As of Friday morning, Koshi province is experiencing partly to mostly cloudy weather, while conditions are mostly clear in other regions, the Division reported.

Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning has been reported in scattered areas of Gandaki and some parts of Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces.

Later today, partly to mostly cloudy conditions are expected over Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as the hilly areas of Lumbini.

The rest of the country should see partly cloudy to mainly clear skies.

Tonight’s forecast indicates mostly clear skies for Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, partially to mostly cloudy in Lumbini Province, and partly cloudy to mostly clear elsewhere.

There remains a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in parts of Gandaki, Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces, and isolated spots in other regions.
