NEPSE declines by 17 points, transactions worth Rs 5.5 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a decline on Sunday, the first trading day of the month.

The stock market index fell by 17.4 points, closing at 2,095, a decrease of 0.80% on Sunday.

The Sensitive Index, which tracks trading of ‘A’ category companies, also dropped by 3.25 points.

Throughout the day, there were 71,997 transactions involving 317 companies, with a total of 13.22 million shares traded.

The total turnover for the day amounted to Rs 5.47 billion.

Share prices increased for 47 companies, while 177 companies saw a decrease.

Nepal Finance had the highest trading volume, with shares worth Rs 304 million changing hands.

This was followed by NRN with Rs 181.9 million and Ngadi Group Power with Rs 152.5 million in trading value.
