Speaker Ghimire directs govt to address queries raised in parliament

KATHMANDU: Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire has issued a directive to the government to respond to the queries raised by lawmakers during the recent parliament meeting.

The Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party, sought information regarding the foreign visits of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and President Ram Chandra Poudel.

Additionally, the NC demanded clarification from the Prime Minister regarding recent statements made by Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, which targeted NC leaders in Parliament.

Prime Minister Dahal recently traveled to India to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, President Ram Chandra Poudel is currently on a visit to Europe.
