KATHMANDU: Nepali cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane reached the West Indies to participate in the ICC T-20 World Cup.

Lamichhane expressed his excitement on social media, stating that his dream of playing in the World Cup in the West Indies has finally come true.

He extended his gratitude to Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) President Chatur Bahadur Chand, Secretary Paras Khadka, Lawyer Saroj Krishna Ghimire, and Manager Binod Das for their continuous efforts, enabling him to participate in the upcoming matches in the West Indies.

“I will be staying with the national team for the remaining two matches here. My dreams and the dreams of my supporters are coming true,” he said.

Despite efforts from the government, National Sports Council, and CAN for the American visa process, Lamichhane and team couldn’t obtain the visa.

Encouraging everyone to support Nepal, who is playing the World Cup after a decade, Lamichhane urged to ignore false rumors and stay united.

Sandeep is set to play against South Africa and Bangladesh in the West Indies.

Nepal will face South Africa on Saturday and Bangladesh on Monday.
