SC hearing on JSP Chair Upendra Yadav’s petition

The Supreme Court’s hearing on the writ petition filed by Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav has been assigned to the Full Bench. The petition, filed by Yadav against the faction led by Ashok Rai and the recognition given by the Election Commission, was ordered to be referred to a full bench by a division bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Til Prasad Shrestha.

Conspiracy to isolate Unified Socialist through ordinance is still on: Madhav Nepal

CPN-Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has alleged a conspiracy to isolate his party through an upcoming ordinance. Speaking at an interaction program on “Socialist Revolution in Nepal,” held in Kathmandu on Sunday, Nepal stated that following the conclusion of the parliamentary budget session, there is a plan to introduce an ordinance aimed at transforming his party into an independent entity, enabling MPs to move freely.

NEPSE drops by 4.59 points, trading surpasses Rs 5 billion

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 4.59 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week. By the market close, NEPSE had decreased by 0.22%, settling at 2073.19 points. On Sunday, shares worth Rs 5.19 billion were traded, with a total of 10,452,128 shares exchanged in 69,219 transactions. Out of the 313 companies in the market, the share prices of 97 companies increased, while 147 companies saw a decrease in their share prices. The share prices of 3 companies remained unchanged.

Ghanashyam Bhusal, General Secretary of the CPN-Unified Socialist, has stated that the CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Center are incapable of bringing socialism to Nepal. Speaking at an interaction on the ‘Socialist Revolution in Nepal’ on Sunday in Kathmandu, Bhusal claimed that the UML was not established to lead a socialist revolution.

Govt reallocates over 2.5 billion in budget for five ministries in Baishakh

In Baishakh, the third last month of the current fiscal year alone, the government has reallocated over Rs 2.5 billion for five ministries. According to information released by the Ministry of Finance, a total of Rs 2.4 billion was reallocated for the Ministries of Energy, Physical Infrastructure, Defense, Urban Development, and Health. During this period, the nine headings from Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation; six from the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport; three from the Ministry of Defense; eleven from the Ministry of Urban Development; and one from the Ministry of Health and Population were reallocated to other programs.
