Police nab four with over Rs 1.3 million counterfeit currency



JANAKPURDHAM: Bara police have arrested four individuals, including one Indian national, involved in producing large quantities of counterfeit Nepali currency.

Acting on a special tip-off, the police apprehended the suspects on Monday from Simraungadh-9, Kachorwa.

The accused were made public during a press conference in Bara on Wednesday.

The suspects include Rajan Chaudhary (25) of Kolhavi Municipality-6, Akash Chaudhary (19) of Kolhavi-5, Mohan Kumar Sah (19) of Rajpur Municipality-1 in Rautahat, and Mohammad Alam (40) of Bihar, India.

Police recovered fake Nepali notes amounting to NPR 1.316 million from the suspects.

Additionally, two motorcycles with the registration numbers Na 34 Pa 3512 and BR 06 AW 2758, and a bicycle were also seized.

According to DSP Dadhiram Neupane, the police are conducting further investigations.
