NC should review its role: UML Vice Chair Poudel

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice Chair Bishnu Prasad Poudel has urged the main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), to adhere to democratic practices and resolve the parliamentary deadlock.

In today’s House of Representatives meeting, Poudel supported Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s proposal seeking a vote of confidence, in accordance with Article 100, Sub-article 2 of the Constitution of Nepal. He expressed hope that this would end the deadlock and bring political stability to the country.

“I request all parties to support the government in accelerating development while maintaining political stability. I call upon NC to reconsider its role and follow democratic practices in Parliament,” Poudel said.

Vice Chair Poudel asserted that the current government has demonstrated a commitment to good governance, alleviated public disillusionment, and instilled hope through its recent efforts.

The main opposition party, NC, is protesting in Parliament, demanding the formation of a parliamentary probe committee to investigate the misappropriation of cooperative funds.

Today, the process of taking the vote of confidence progressed amid the commotion.
