KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a 2.26% increase on Sunday, marking the first trading day of the week.
Compared to the previous trading day, the NEPSE index has risen by 45.69 points, reaching 2064 points.
The trading volume has also seen a significant increase. While the trading volume was Rs. 4.23 billion in the previous session, it reached Rs. 5.25 billion on Sunday.
All sectoral indices have shown upward trends.
Life insurance companies increased by 4.38 percent, non-life insurance by 3.81 percent, others by 2.76 percent, and banking by 2.63 percent.
The share prices of four microfinance companies surged by 10 percent today, including Atmanirbhar Microfinance, Samudayik Microfinance, Sabaiko Microfinance, and Nerude Mirmire Microfinance.
Similarly, Himalayan Microfinance, Mountain Hydro Nepal, Ruru Hydropower, Riverfalls Power, and NIC Asia Bank saw their share prices rise by 8.4 percent, 7.9 percent, 7.4 percent, 7.1 percent, and 6.9 percent respectively.
However, Mandu Hydropower witnessed a decrease of 10% in its share price.
Peoples Power, Barahi Hydropower, Gurans Microfinance, and Dolta Power also experienced declines in their share prices by 7.7 percent, 6.3 percent, 5.2 percent, and 3.9 percent respectively.
