Without specifying their relationship, the hotel assigned them room number 9 on the third floor.

According to hotel staff, this couple has been frequent visitors.

This time, a dispute erupted between them and escalated to a fatal level.

The girl lost her life, and bruises indicative of physical assault were found on her body.

As per a complaint lodged at the Maharajgunj Police Circle, the boy has been identified as Aneet Karki, in his early thirties, from Chandragiri Municipality-15, while the deceased is Kalpana Bhandari, 31, from Letang Municipality-2 in Morang district.

Kalpana, a married woman, resided in a rented room in Bansbari, with her husband currently working in Saudi Arabia.

The police discovered bruises across Bhandari’s body, including her knees, breasts, arms, forehead, cheeks, and chest.

Her body is currently at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for postmortem examination.

According to Kalpana’s relatives, Anil informed the hotel staff that Kalpana had committed suicide.

Subsequently, the police were notified.

In his statement to the police, Aneet claimed that Kalpana entered the bathroom with a bed sheet and did not respond to him, prompting him to seek assistance from the hotel staff.

Upon forcibly opening the bathroom, Kalpana was found on the floor with the bed sheet wrapped around her neck.

Kalpana was rushed to TUTH at 11:35 pm and was pronounced dead by the hospital.

Despite Aneet’s arrest and the discovery of bruises on the victim’s body, the police have registered a complaint of abetment to suicide.
