Tamang and Nepal Bhasa languages officially recognized in Bagmati Province

KATHMANDU: Tamang and Nepal bhasa (Newari) languages are being implemented as official languages in Bagmati province from today (Monday).

The Provincial Official Language Act 2080 made by the Bagmati Provincial Government is to be implemented from today.

On this occasion, the Bagmati Province Government has announced that today will be a public holiday throughout Bagmati Province.

The Bagmati Government published in the gazette that Tamang and Nepalese languages will be official languages.

After 180 days of declaring today as language day, the Bagmati Province government is going to formally start the implementation of that language as a government function.

Now Tamang and Nepal bhasa (Newari) languages will be written on the signboard of all the ministries of the province along with the Nepali language.
