Four provinces likely to witness rain today

KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of westerly winds and local breezes.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the skies are mostly clear in the hilly regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

By afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy in the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will remain mainly clear.

There’s a chance of scattered to light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in several places across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali provinces, and the hilly and Himalayan areas of the Sudurpschim Province.

Additionally, sporadic to light snowfall may occur in some high hill and Himalayan areas of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

A few locations in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Province, as well as certain hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali, could also experience precipitation.

During the night, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy.

There’s a possibility of scattered to light rain and snowfall in some high hilly and Himalayan areas of Gandaki Province.

The forecast also warns of potential storms in parts of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in select hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

This weather pattern, it said, could partially impact daily life, including agriculture, health services, tourism, mountain activities, and transportation.
