SC issues show cause order in Gaur Massacre case

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued a show-cause order in the Gaur massacre case.

Justice Til Prasad Shrestha’s single bench issued the order on Wednesday in the name of the opposition.

Previously, Tribhuvan Shah had filed a writ on the Gaur massacre case on June 4, 2023, naming the District Police Office Rautahat and the District Prosecutor’s Office Rautahat as defendants.

On April 7, 2008, 27 CPN-Maoist activists were killed in a clash between the then Madhesi Janadhikar Forum and CPN-Maoist cadres.

The Gaur incident is related to Aam Janata Party Chairman Prabhu Sah and Deputy Prime Minister Upendra Yadav.
