Qatar Emir and President Paudel confer at Sheetal Niwas

KATHMANDU: The Qatar Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, commenced his two-day state visit to Nepal, arriving in Kathmandu to engage in bilateral discussions with President Ramchandra Paudel at Sheetal Niwas, the official residence of the President of Nepal on Tuesday.

Upon his arrival in Kathmandu today, the Qatar Emir proceeded directly to Sheetal Niwas from the Tribhuvan International Airport.

President Paudel, accompanied by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Deputy Prime Ministers, the Speaker, and other high-ranking government officials, welcomed the Emir at TIA on Tuesday afternoon.

Presently, discussions between the Qatar Emir and President Paudel are underway.

To commemorate the occasion, President Paudel is hosting a state dinner in honor of the Qatari Emir this evening.

Earlier, upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, the Qatar Emir received a guard of honor from the Nepali Army in a specially designated VVIP lounge.
