KATHMANDU: The National General Convention Representatives Council (NGCRC) meeting of the CPN-UML commenced in Kathmandu on Saturday.

The meeting kicked off at Sunrise Hall in Lalitpur’s Godawari on Saturday afternoon, drawing the participation of approximately 2500 leaders and cadres from all corners of the country.

Special guests including Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, along with various other top leaders from political parties, have been invited to address the gathering.

PM Dahal and Deuba are scheduled to deliver speeches as special guests during the event.

At the UML’s grand gathering, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel will present a review of the Jhulaghat-Chiwa Bhanjyang journey conducted as part of the Mission Grassroots Campaign.

Moreover, discussions will focus on organizing annual work plans in the upcoming days.

During today’s meeting, Party Chair KP Oli presented the political report, while General Secretary Pokharel delivered the organizational report.

Reports will also be presented by representatives of the Central Discipline Commission, Central Audit Commission, Central Election Commission, and the Central Advisory Council.

The UML aims to enhance the technological aspect of the Representative Council meeting. Participants have been provided access to documents presented by leaders through a mobile app, and suggestions from participants will also be collected through the app.

The meeting is scheduled to continue until April 22.
