Govt not serious about investigating cooperative scandal: Dr. Arju Deuba

KATHMANDU: Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, the President of the Agriculture, Cooperative, and Natural Resources Committee of the House of Representatives, has accused the government of not fully engaging in the investigation into the cooperative scandal.

During a discussion on “Cooperative Issues and Future Strategies” held in Kathmandu on Saturday, she mentioned the absence of a fully committed government investigation commission to bring justice to the victims of cooperatives.

President Deuba highlighted that cooperatives themselves have embezzled funds and misused power, and the Nepal Police have failed to take action against such misconduct.

She also noted that cases of cooperatives leaving many citizens homeless have been brought to the attention of the commission, and directives have been given to the relevant cooperatives to rectify such activities.
