KATHMANDU: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has stormed into the finals of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup after defeating Nepal by six wickets in a thrilling encounter on Friday.
Winning the toss, UAE opted to bowl first, inviting Nepal to set the target.
Nepal managed to put up a total of 119 runs, losing nine wickets in the process, with Sandeep Jora leading the charge with a crucial knock of 50 runs.
Gulshan Jha and Karan KC contributed 20 and 17 runs respectively to the team’s total.
In response to Nepal’s target, UAE chased down the modest total of 120 runs in the 18th over of the game.
Alishan Sharafu played a brilliant innings, scoring 55 runs, while V Sukumaran added 28 runs to the team’s tally.
During UAE’s innings, Gulsan Jha claimed two wickets for Nepal, while Sompal Kami and Karan KC took one wicket each.
With this victory, UAE advances to the finals of the ACC Premier Cup, showcasing their prowess in the tournament.
