1000 people receives service from free eye camp

GORKHA: As many as 1,000 people have been benefitted from a free seven-day eye camp held at Bhimsen Thapa rural municipality in the district.

The camp was jointly organised by the rural municipality, Gorkha Lions Eye Service Centre and Blind Association Rehabilitation Programme Gorkha with technical support from Bharatpur Eye Hospital.

Administrative Officer at Gorkha Lions Eye Service Centre, Bishwa Prakash Aryal said 1,058 people underwent eye check-up and treatment in all the eight wards of the rural municipality.

Among those examined at the camp, patients diagnosed with cataract were provided with free surgery service, he informed.

Aryal said 78 people who were diagnosed with cataract at the camp were also provided free surgery services.

Medicines were distributed to 917 people and free glasses to 78 people in the camp.
