Prime Minister Dahal vows continued crackdown on corruption, irrespective of time period



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has reiterated the government’s commitment to investigating and taking action against corruption, regardless of when the offenses were committed.

Addressing an interaction titled “Challenges of Good Governance and Future Actions of the Government,” organized by the Institute for Strategic and Socio-Economic Research (ISSR) and Khabarhub.com at the Pavilion Hall in Kathmandu on Tuesday, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of enforcing laws to propel the nation towards good governance and prosperity.

“We will persist in investigating and taking action against corruption, demonstrating the government’s resolve to hold corrupt individuals accountable,” he affirmed.

Prime Minister Dahal highlighted that the government’s primary objectives are good governance, social justice, and prosperity. He emphasized the government’s proactive stance in implementing measures against corruption.

“The government is prioritizing the issue of good governance and is actively working to enforce measures against corruption,” he stated.

The Prime Minister underscored that curbing corruption is indispensable for overall development, safeguarding citizens’ interests, and ensuring effective governance. He expressed confidence that by involving relevant authorities and providing them with legal powers, resources, and support, a culture of integrity can be cultivated.

Prime Minister Dahal stressed the necessity for all sectors of society, including the government, private sector, civil society, media, and the public, to collaborate continuously to translate the government’s policies into tangible actions.
