Madhesh Province CM Yadav to seek vote of confidence today

KATHMANDU: Chief Minister (CM) Saroj Kumar Yadav of Madhesh Province is poised to seek a vote of confidence on Tuesday to solidify his position amidst shifting political dynamics.

A meeting of the provincial assembly has been convened for this purpose at 1 pm today, as confirmed by Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal.

Following recent changes in federal-level politics, the Nepali Congress withdrew its support from the provincial government, compelling CM Yadav to seek a vote of confidence.

This marks the fourth instance during his 15-month tenure that CM Yadav will face such a vote.

With 107 members in the provincial assembly, CM Yadav needs to secure the support of at least 54 lawmakers to maintain his position as Chief Minister.
