President Paudel stresses agriculture, tourism, and water resources for development

DUMRE, TANAHU: President Ramchandra Paudel has remarked that agriculture, tourism, industry, and water resources are the cornerstones of the country’s development.

Speaking at a program held in Tanahusur of Tanahu on the eve of World Heritage Day, President Paudel highlighted the importance of these sectors in driving Nepal’s progress.

He underscored the significance of a peaceful, happy, and prosperous Nepal, which he described as the essence of the Constitution, achieved through political transformation and the establishment of a federal democratic republic system.

President Paudel emphasized the importance of good governance and a government accountable to its citizens in realizing this vision.

Addressing the neglect of historic sites like Tanahusurdanda, President Paudel urged for their protection and promotion, stressing the responsibility to explore and harness the significance of such areas.

Acknowledging the area’s political history, particularly its role in the 1951 political revolution, President Paudel paid tribute to martyrs and their contributions.

He emphasized the state’s duty to fulfill its responsibilities towards these martyrs and their families.

Reflecting on his own political journey and contributions, President Paudel expressed gratitude to the people of the district and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the nation.

President Paudel also highlighted Tanahusur’s rich intellectual and educational legacy, underscoring ongoing initiatives to preserve and promote cultural heritage and tourism.

He commended efforts to develop various tourism destinations in Tanahun and emphasized the need to attract domestic and international tourists.

While acknowledging delays in certain development plans, such as the construction of the Bhanu Zoological Park, President Paudel assured that relevant agencies would address these issues.

He emphasized the importance of strategic projects like the Tanahun Hydropower Project and the Lower Seti hydropower project in driving development in the region.

Gandaki provincial government officials echoed President Paudel’s sentiments, emphasizing the progress made in the district’s development.

They called for continued efforts to improve infrastructure and conserve historic sites like Tanahusur, underscoring the importance of tourism in driving economic growth.

Mayor of Byas Municipality, Baikuntha Neupane, emphasized the need for the conservation of Tanahusur’s historic significance, highlighting its cultural and strategic importance for Nepal’s development.
