KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli lambasted the Unified Socialist Party for their support of the Nepali Congress in the Sudurpaschim Province, labeling their actions as an attempt to buoy the opposition’s prospects.

Oli asserted that the Unified Socialists’ maneuvers in the Sudurpaschim Province were aimed at bolstering the opposition, diverting politics from what he deemed the right direction.

“At that time, steps were taken to raise the hopes of the opposition,” he remarked.

The Unified Socialist Party’s endorsement of the Nepali Congress Chief Minister in pursuit of its own leadership ambitions in the Sudurpaschim Province was characterized by Oli as ‘apolitical’ move.

Commenting on the recent developments, Oli criticized the decision, stating, “Integrated socialist or whatever they call themselves, it was an apolitical decision.”

Furthermore, Oli condemned the Unified Socialists, accusing them of revealing their right-wing opportunistic nature in a blatant manner.

“The right-wing opportunist character of the Unified Socialists was exposed in a naked manner,” he remarked, adding, “This should not have happened.”

Oli emphasized that the party’s actions, including aligning with the Nepali Congress and allegedly weakening their own party, would have no significant impact.

“The role of putting up communist signboards, working in the interests of the Congress and weakening us was seen on the streets. It won’t make any difference,” he concluded.
