Government suspends issuance of labor permits for Russia and Ukraine employment

KATHMANDU: The government has taken a significant step by halting the issuance of labor permits for individuals intending to work in Russia and Ukraine for foreign employment.

The Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, citing concerns about the potential enlistment of Nepali nationals in the Russian and Ukrainian armies, has made the decision to suspend permit issuance until further notice.

This decision comes amidst reports of several Nepali citizens having tragically lost their lives while serving in the Russian Army during the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The move aims to ensure the safety and well-being of Nepali citizens and prevent any further involvement in conflict zones.
