KATHMANDU: The government has made the decision to advise President Ramchandra Poudel to bring the current parliamentary session to a close.

According to government spokesperson Rekha Sharma, the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ resolved to forward a recommendation to the President for concluding the ongoing session starting from midnight on April 14.

Previously, discussions were conducted between Prime Minister Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli regarding the termination of the parliamentary session.

Leaders from the ruling party have expressed that the decision to end the ongoing session has been prompted by the continuous obstruction by the main opposition party, Nepali Congress.

However, spokesperson Sharma stated that the recommendation for ending the parliament was meant to give the House a break for few days as the House has to be called again next month.
