KATHMANDU: Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Hanan Goder has paid a courtesy call to National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal on Tuesday.
The meeting, held in Chairman Dahal’s office at Singhadurbar, focused on diplomatic relations and mutual cooperation between the two nations.
Chairman Dahal highlighted the 60-year history of Nepal-Israel diplomatic ties and expressed optimism for stronger bonds in the future.
He emphasized Nepal’s stance on peace and stability in the Middle East and highlighted mutual support in multilateral forums like the United Nations.
Dahal underscored Nepal’s need for vital support from the Israeli government as the country progresses towards economic prosperity.
He urged swift action in locating Bipin Joshi, a missing Nepali student, and expressed concern for the security and employment of the approximately 4,000 Nepali workers in Israel.
Discussing tourism, Dahal encouraged more Israeli citizens to visit Nepal, contributing to the promotion of Nepali tourism.
Ambassador Godar acknowledged the close ties between Israel and Nepal and praised Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and tourist attractions.
He mentioned initiating the Learn and Earn program, through which many Nepalese have gained skills from Israel and applied them successfully in Nepal.
Despite recent unfortunate incidents, he assured continued support from the Israeli government for the families of Nepalese students affected.
Efforts are ongoing to locate Bipin Joshi.
