Lumbini CM Mahara and three ministers swear-in to office on Sunday



BUTWAL: Newly appointed Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Jokh Bahadur Mahara, has taken the oath as the Chief Minister.

Alongside Mahara, Chet Narayan Acharya from the CPN-UML parliamentary party, Bhandari Lal Ahir Yadav from the coalition partners, as well as Dipendra Pun from the CPN-Maoist Center, have taken the oath of ministerial positions.

The newly appointed ministers have not yet been assigned ministerial responsibilities.

Mahara, endorsed by 48 members of the Lumbini Province Assembly, was appointed as the Chief Minister of Lumbini Province under Article 168 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Province Chief Amik Sherchan, who appointed Mahara as Chief Minister on Friday, administered the oath of office and secrecy to the Chief Minister and other ministers on Sunday.
