Lumbini Chief Minister Chaudhary resigns from post

KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Lumbini province, Dil Bahadur Chaudhary, has resigned from his position on Thursday.

Chief Minister Chaudhary announced his resignation after failing to garner the vote of confidence from the political parties in the alliance.

He disclosed his intention to step down from the post addressing the province assembly today.

From the ruling coalition CPN-Maoist Center province parliamentary party leader Jokh Bahadur Mahara has garnered support to claim majority to form the government.

Chaudhary had become Lumbini Chief Minister garnering support from Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, CPN-Unified Socialist and Nagarik Unmukti Party among others on April 27, 2023 and was in minority after Maoist Center withdrew its support last month.
