Shangrila Football Club Morang secures final berth in Birat Gold Cup



KATHMANDU: Shangrila Football Club Morang clinched a spot in the final of the prestigious ‘Birat Gold Cup’ football tournament after a thrilling victory over departmental team APF, with a scoreline of 4-3.

In a nail-biting first semi-final clash held at the Martyr Stadium on Wednesday evening, Shangrila Football Club emerged victorious in the tie-breaker round.

The match remained deadlocked at a goalless draw throughout the stipulated 90 minutes of play, with neither team able to break the deadlock during the extra 30 minutes of additional time.

The tense encounter ultimately led to a tie-breaker.

In the tie-breaker round, both teams managed to score three goals each, intensifying the drama.

The final decision was made through the ‘sudden death’ method, wherein Shangrila Football Club held their nerve to secure the win and advance to the tournament’s final.
