Rain coupled with sporadic thunderstorms expected in hilly areas

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has issued a warning indicating the influence of westerly and local winds prevailing over Nepal.

Reports suggest predominantly clear conditions across the hilly regions, with partial cloud cover elsewhere in the country.

In certain pockets of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, people are experiencing light rainfall accompanied by gusts and thunderstorms.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be a mix of clouds across the hilly regions and partial cloudiness elsewhere.

There’s a likelihood of isolated thunderstorms with light rain in select areas of Gandaki province.

Moreover, there’s a potential for light snowfall in high-altitude regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

As night approaches, Karnali and Gandaki provinces may witness clear skies, while other areas remain stable.

However, isolated snow showers could occur in the high hills and Himalayan zones of Gandaki province.

Authorities have urged people to remain vigilant as sporadic thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds may accompany the forecasted rainfall in hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
