Nepal elects to field first against Gujarat in T20 tri-series opener

KATHMANDU: In the inaugural match of the SMS Friendship Cup T20 tri-series, the Nepali national team has chosen to bowl first against the Gujarat Cricket Association.

After winning the toss, Nepal decided to take to the field first in the encounter.

This tournament, hosted in Vapi, India, will feature Nepal competing against Baroda and Gujarat in a series of seven matches, culminating in the final on April 7.

In Pool D of the T20 World Cup, Nepal has been grouped alongside South Africa, Bangladesh, Netherlands, and Sri Lanka.

Nepal’s upcoming fixtures include clashes against Gujarat on March 31 and April 3, and against Baroda on April 2 and April 5.
