Kaligandaki Corridor: Tiplang-Pokhrebagar section being blacktopped

MYAGDI: The Myagdi-Kaligandaki Corridor has faced a setback as the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road plan is obscured in the Tipplang-Pokhrebagar section of Myagdi district.

An additional 6 km road stretch has been paved in the Tiplyang-Mahabhir-Bhirkate-Baisari-Ratopani-Pokhrebagar-Bhurung Tatopani section.

In 2074, Sharma United JV clinched a Rs 66 crore contract for blacktopping a 19 km road stretch from Raghuganga Rural Municipality-3 Rahughat in Myagdi to Nagdhunga in Annapurna Rural Municipality-2 Bhurung Tatopani as part of the Beni-Jomsom-Korla road project.

Ramesh Subedi, the ‘site in charge’ of contractor company Sharma-United, reported the completion of the second phase of blacktopping work in Begkhola, Mahabhir, Baisari, Ratopani, Pokhrebagar, and Tatopani market areas.

“We are poised to pave an additional two kilometers of road in the Tiplang-Begkhola section by this month,” he stated, adding, “Our aim is to complete road paving within the current financial year, barring landslides in the section below Begkhola.”
