Nepal-India Sanskrit Conference held in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Some 80 Sanskrit scholars from Nepal and India gathered in Kathmandu for the International Nepal-India Sanskrit Conference.

In the conference organized by Policy Research Institute Nepal and Central Sanskrit University Delhi and India Foundation, in-depth discussions are scheduled to be held on various topics related to the state of Sanskrit language and literature in Nepal and India.

Research work will be presented in the presence of the vice chancellors of Nepal Sanskrit University, Nepal and Central Sanskrit University, India and of other universities and distinguished professors, said Dr Premraj Neupane, coordinator of the organizing committee.

Consultation will also be held how Sanskrit should adopt the new school of thought, with presentations based on the experience and knowledge of various leading Sanskrit scholars in Nepal and India.

According to information shared at the event, Sanskrit language is being studied in 254 universities in 40 countries around the world.
