PALPA: In a tragic incident in Palpa, a young girl was discovered dead, her throat slit.

The lifeless body of the girl was found in Khayaha, Ribdikot rural municipality-1 of Palpa district, as confirmed by the police.”

According to locals, the victim, identified as 19-year-old Padma Khyaha, had gone to bathe in a nearby spout near her residence on Tuesday afternoon.

She was later found dead, bearing injuries from sharp objects across her body.

Chiranjivi Pokharel, Ward President of Ribdikot Rural Municipality-1 Khyha, confirmed the identity of the deceased, stating that Padma was the daughter of Dal Bahadur and Kamala Sunar of Karangdi.

She was a student in Grade 12 at Sarada Secondary School.

Pokharel recounted that Padma left her home around 4:00 pm for a bath but failed to return by late evening.

“The injuries, including cuts on her neck and fingers, suggest a struggle before her demise,” remarked Pokharel.

Superintendent of Police Narendra Chand, the District Police Chief, disclosed that due to the evening timing of the incident, the police secured the area and initiated investigations the following morning.

He added that a canine unit from Bhairahawa has been deployed to aid in the investigation.
