KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-UML has announced Suhang Nembang, the son of the late Subas Nembang, as its candidate for the upcoming by-election in Ilam-2 constituency, and Daman Bahadur Bhandari for the provincial assembly by-election in Bajhang-1 (Ka).

The decision to nominate Nembang and Bhandari was taken during a Secretariat meeting chaired by UML Chairman KP Oli.

Suhang Nembang has been chosen to contest from Ilam-2, succeeding his father Subas Nembang, who passed away, leaving the seat vacant.

In response to concerns raised by the Nepali Congress regarding Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, the UML concluded that the NC’s protest against Lamichhane was biased and motivated by political vendetta.
