CPN-UML secretariat meeting underway, selection of by-election candidates likely



KATHMANDU: The Secretariat meeting of the ruling CPN-UML is undergoing at the party headquarters in Chyasal, Lalitpur.

The agenda of the secretariat meeting includes crucial discussions, notably the selection of candidates for the upcoming by-elections in Illam and Bhajang.

Prior to today’s meeting, party leaders celebrated Holi by smearing colors on each other.

Rajendra Gautam, the head of the party’s publicity department, stated that the meeting will primarily focus on formulating the party’s strategy and making necessary preparations for the upcoming by-elections.

A total of six potential candidates have been proposed for Illam-2, while three names have been suggested for Bhajang-1 by the party.

These recommendations will be thoroughly deliberated upon during the meeting, with the party expected to finalize its candidates for the respective constituencies.
