Cabinet appoints four members to NPC, including Aranico Panday



KATHMANDU: The government has appointed four individuals, among them Aranico Panday, as members of the National Planning Commission (NPC).

According to government spokesperson Rekha Sharma, a meeting of the cabinet held on Thursday decided to appoint Sangeeta Singh from Kathmandu, Kusendra Bahadur Mahat from Jumla, Shivaraj Adhikari from Palpa, and Aranico Panday from Lalitpur as members of the NPC.

Adhikari currently holds the position of Head of the Central Department of Economics at the Tribhuvan University, while Sangeeta is recognized as an urban development expert.

Pandey, in addition to his role as a member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), also brings expertise in climate-related matters.

The allocation of these appointments within the National Planning Commission reflects a cooperative effort among the ruling coalition.

It’s notable that Mahat and Adhikari have close affiliations with CPN-UML, whereas Pandey is associated with RSP.
