CAN announces Nepali cricket team for Friendship Cup



KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has unveiled the lineup for the Nepali team set to compete in the forthcoming Friendship Cup against Ireland ‘A’, scheduled to take place both at home and in India.

Under the leadership of Rohit Kumar Paudel, CAN selected a formidable 15-member squad for the tournament.

The team comprises Ashish Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel, Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Malla, Bibek Yadav, Sandeep Jora, Anil Shah, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Gulsan Jha, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Pratish JC, Avinash Bohara, and the captain, Paudel, along with Akash Chand.

The Nepali team is scheduled to engage in a T20 encounter against Ireland on March 25 and 26 at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, before embarking on their journey to India.

In India, Nepal’s cricket squad will face Gujarat in their opening match on March 31, followed by a clash against Baroda on April 2.

Continuing their campaign, Nepal is slated to compete against Gujarat once more on April 3, leading up to their final group stage fixture against Baroda on April 5.

Following the league matches, the top two teams will advance to the final showdown, set to take place on the April 7.
